How Did I Make It Without These Resources?

Thanks for the post from Sylvia Campbell

When Katelynn was born four years ago, I wasn’t really internet savvy. I had an e-mail account, like everyone else, but I didn’t surf for information or even think about parenting sites. For one thing, the husband and I still lived in a small apartment and only had enough money for dial-up internet, which was way too slow. We only got internet service from www.cleartvbundle.com last year, right before I started blogging, and we use that for going online now.

Since getting pregnant, though, I have started reading parenting sites and getting a lot of advice for this pregnancy. I definitely feel like things are easier this time around. I’m on sites to track my baby’s development that I plan to continue using even after she’s born. Plus I’m reading a ton about prenatal nutrition and exercise. I had no idea that special types of pregnancy yoga are out there, just for easing the related back pain, but now I know! My doctor even lets me book appointments online.

But even more than the down-to-earth practical advice, I’m also sharing this experience with a lot of other moms and moms-to-be out there. I’m able to pass on the things I learned from having Katelynn to first-time moms and to share the experiences of women who’ve already had three or four children. These ladies seem to know everything, and I would never have met them without the web.
