I’m addicted to coupons. I used to clip coupons from the weekly newspaper, the store flyer, magazines, wherever I could find them. I rarely printed coupons because printer ink is so expensive that it just isn’t worth it. Once I gathered my coupons, I would organize them by category in a check folder.
To assemble the grocery list, I would compare my coupons with the advertised sales in the store flyer, and I would do this while coming up with the meals I wanted to make that week. Then I would sort my coupons, making sure to throw away all the expired coupons. Sometimes, I would even check couponing websites to see if there were great sales that matched coupons for the week.
Now that I’m a working mom with a toddler, this routine had to change. I just don’t have 2 hours to prepare for the grocery store every week, but I still save money. I haven’t given up couponing completely. I still check the online store flyer, and I use the coupons that are mailed to me. I always make my list before heading to the store.
It’s just simpler now. I grab my list, and I grab my toddler, who loves to help me set the ADT security alarm before we leave for the store, and then we go save some money.
