Freerange Stock Photography
Freerange Stock brings a refreshing approach to providing free stock photography to the public. It’s an image resource that believes that stock photography can actually be good photography. Whether you’re in need of a photo to use on your site or a photographer who just wants to showcase their works, this site is for you.
It’s free and quick to sign up. You can browse all you want, but when you find a photo you like, you must first login in order to download the image. If you’re not logged in, a watermark is placed on the image until you do.
Searching is fast although I do recommend that when you do a search, do it with a singular version of the word and not plural. Typing in “toy” gets you more results than if you were to type in “toys”.

Photographers can make money even though they’d be offering their photos for free. Each time someone clicks on an ad that’s next to their photo, they get a share of that revenue. That’s a common strategy I’ve been seeing and think it’s a wonderful idea. And Freerange is very generous with it because photographers get to keep 80 percent of it!
Even though the photos are offered for free, there are some restrictions, but well within reason. For example, they don’t allow the free redistribution of their wares, or cannot be included in products that are to be distributed in an archive format. You can check out their licensing information for more details.
All photos are offered in jpeg format and let me tell you — the dimensions of some of the photos I’ve seen are huge, which means you have plenty to work with. No more having to strugle to enlarge something to make it fit and only to have the quality reduced.

This is pretty interesting. I don’t know if I could sell any of my photos. I am pretty attached to the ones that are good enough that someone might want to buy them. But it is worth checking out in any case. It seems like you go from one type of blog to another when you review them. And you just reviewed a blog about “nothing” so it may be awhile until you go back there. But I hope you will and look at mine. In the meantime I reviewed you blog because we all should be doing this. Right? Hope so anyway.

Most likely photographers won’t be making a killing on the ad revenues they share in, but it’s a nice gesture on the aprt of Freerange. I surmise that for the more experienced photographer, they’ll continue to provide their wares independently. Thanks so much for your review of DGR, too!
