A Darn Good Look At Revoluminary

Monday, May 26th, 2008 |

A Darn Good Look At RevoluminaryRevoluminary is a resource — a community — where students and instructors get together to share and learn about a variety of topics. These topics are made available as classes, so if you want to know more about Microsoft Office, GMAT Test Preparation, a language, just to name a few, then all you have to do is look over the schedules and find one that’s right for you.

Each class has a profile of the instructor enabling you to see beforehand the credentials they bring with them. It also includes a rating for each subject taught in addition to the number of hours they’ve taught it. Naturally, the expectation is that the more hours they’ve taught a subject the more likely their rate will be above someone who has not. But that’s one of the strengths of this service because you can review and compare before signing up to a class. You can even send the instructor a message beforehand as well.

A Darn Good Look At RevoluminaryRevoluminary members can sign up for classes they want at a time that is convenient, as well as creating their own classes and setting their own prices and hours of availability. So if you’re looking for a way to earn some money and have an expertise you’d like to share with others, then you can become an instructor, too!

Need a visual aid as instructor? No problem. With Revoluminary you can include Powerpoint or Word files as part of your class materials that students can download.

I think Revoluminary provides a great service. By bringing together people from all over the world, they’re making it easier for everyone to share, learn and grow, enriching their lives. That’s a cool combination!

The Fenster School: Providing Education And Hope

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 |

With the stories we see and hear of today about teens getting into trouble just for the sake of seeing how popular they can become no matter the consequences, it can really wear parents down having them think “What’s the point of trying?” It could be a lack of focus among other things, but if given the chance, these teens could right themselves when given the proper attention and guidance.

Well, the truth of the matter is that changes start in the home, but that covers only part of the day. When parents have to work and the kids are in school, that leaves a lot of time for kids to be influenced by not-so-wonderful resources. Not so if they were going to a school like The Fenster school.

This teen boarding school specializes in providing teens with a strong education and helps them to become more aware of their potential and take charge of their own destiny.

Low self-esteem can be a contributor to teens becoming self-destructive and harmful to others. The Fenster School provides the attention students need to help them achieve worthwhile goals that increase their self-esteem and helps develop personal responsibility — something so many of our youth lack today. With this sort of foundation, all that translates to stronger grades and the likelihood of being accepted into colleges and universities.

If you feel your child could benefit from this nurturing and educational environment, or know someone who would, I encourage you to check out their site for more information.

Heavy Equipment Training

Heavy Equipment TrainingHonestly, I had no idea they had such a thing as a heavy equipment training school. I figured anyone who operated such machinery just learned on the job. But the fact that there’s an organized approach to learning such things, I’m sure it makes for safer and more efficient results all around.

Associated Training Services is a heavy machinery school that includes training on what you and I only see as we’re driving by construction areas: trucks, bulldozers, excavation equipment and more. They’re a company that has been doing this sort of thing for 16 years over its 40-year operation.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the heavy equipment industry is showing no signs of slowing down. Makes sense when you think about it because it touches so many other industries.

Their training programs cover a variety of heavy equipment that provide hands-on education in real-life scenarios. They also offer a nationwide job placement service that includes 1600 employers.

Programs are broken down into three levels, the first of which gives an overview of what students can expect when working with heavy equipment. As the students advance to the next two levels, not only are they increasing their knowledge and skills, but they’re also expanding their job opportunities.
