Blog To Make A Difference With Blogathon

by Mark on July 8, 2009

Some people blog for the fun of it. Others do it to inform or entertain. And still others do it to make money. But did you know that you can blog for charity? That’s what my friend Tish of The Kat House is doing with Blogathon 2009.

When you want to raise money for a charity with Blogathon, you first select a charity of your choice. This charity isn’t from a list they provide; you can come up with your own. Then on the day Blogathon says, you publish posts to your blog every 30 minutes for 24 hours straight. Each post can be worth a certain donation. You can read more about it at their site. It can be especially fun when you team up with someone to trade posting duties.

The charity Tish has chosen is The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, which is a place where her dogs have received health care. A worthy cause, I’d say. I recommend you check out her post about it and learn more about how you can help her. To show her thanks to donators, she’s holding a drawing for a gift card at Books-A-Million.

Thanks so much for spreading the word, Mark! It is also worth mentioning that Mark has donated a free blog review on his blog! :)

Can’t thank you enough, Mark!
