A Darn Good Look At Revoluminary
Revoluminary is a resource — a community — where students and instructors get together to share and learn about a variety of topics. These topics are made available as classes, so if you want to know more about Microsoft Office, GMAT Test Preparation, a language, just to name a few, then all you have to do is look over the schedules and find one that’s right for you.
Each class has a profile of the instructor enabling you to see beforehand the credentials they bring with them. It also includes a rating for each subject taught in addition to the number of hours they’ve taught it. Naturally, the expectation is that the more hours they’ve taught a subject the more likely their rate will be above someone who has not. But that’s one of the strengths of this service because you can review and compare before signing up to a class. You can even send the instructor a message beforehand as well.
Revoluminary members can sign up for classes they want at a time that is convenient, as well as creating their own classes and setting their own prices and hours of availability. So if you’re looking for a way to earn some money and have an expertise you’d like to share with others, then you can become an instructor, too!
Need a visual aid as instructor? No problem. With Revoluminary you can include Powerpoint or Word files as part of your class materials that students can download.
I think Revoluminary provides a great service. By bringing together people from all over the world, they’re making it easier for everyone to share, learn and grow, enriching their lives. That’s a cool combination!

I’ve taken an Arabic class on http://www.revoluminary.com and was very pleased. The teacher was in Egypt while I was on the East Coast in the U.S. Despite the time zone difference, he was able to take me through two initial lessons and some introductory vocabulary. The classroom allowed the teacher to upload a powerpoint deck with a prepared Arabic lesson that he took me page by page, while I practiced writing on the shared whiteboard. Good review, DGR!

The site’s actually really cool. My girlfriend just took a language class on it. Pretty crazy talking to someone on another continent and working through powerpoint slides!
